Taller de Diego y Frida
The studio of Diego Rivera was the first "Modern" buiding ever made in Mexico. He later added the right blue wing as a studio for Frida, with the famous bridge that connected both buildings. We rented the movie "Frida" after going, just to be able to scream every 3 seconds: "We've been there! We've been there!".
This studio is in the neighborhood San Angel, and Frida lived mostly in Coyoacan (They were an open minded couple), but legend says she would travel every day to San Angel to bring Diego his lunch. Now, THAT'S love! (And we all know that a well fed husband...).
This was Diego. Believe it or not, he made women crazy. Frida herself married him twice. Go figure, I guess talent goes a long way!
I WANT HIM!!!
Mexican people can make something beautiful out of anything... seriously!!!
This bull was the coolest thing. Diego didn't make these, by the way, but his murals are everywhere in Mexico.
One thing we've noticed is that in the Mexican culture the concepts of GOOD an EVIL are almost considered like a whole. Even in "Lucha Libre", they arrange matches between the "rudos" (rudes) and the "tecnicos", which belong to the good side of the force.
View of the studio from the second floor. Can you see Diego's shoes? They were the same size that my father's, except my dad is almost 7 feet high and Diego was 5. You do the math.
